Data Retention & Account Termination Policy

This policy explains how Cloud8USA handles stored files, account data, cancelled subscriptions, suspended accounts, and terminated accounts.

1. Active Accounts

For active accounts in good standing, Cloud8USA stores user files according to the user’s selected plan and storage limits.

Users are responsible for maintaining their own backup copies of important files.

2. Cancelled Subscriptions

If you cancel a paid subscription, your account may be downgraded, restricted, or moved to a free or limited-access status if available.

If your stored files exceed the available storage limit after cancellation, you may be required to download or delete files.

3. Failed Payments

If payment fails, Cloud8USA may:

  • notify you by email;
  • retry payment;
  • restrict uploads;
  • restrict downloads;
  • suspend access;
  • delete files after a reasonable grace period.

4. Grace Period

Cloud8USA may provide a grace period of up to 30 days after cancellation, failed payment, or plan expiration.

After the grace period, files may be permanently deleted.

5. Account Termination for Policy Violations

Cloud8USA may suspend or terminate accounts immediately for:

  • piracy;
  • copyright infringement;
  • malware;
  • phishing;
  • fraud;
  • illegal content;
  • payment abuse;
  • violation of our Acceptable Use Policy;
  • activity that creates legal, security, financial, or reputational risk.

In serious cases, access may be removed without prior notice.

6. Data Deletion

When an account is deleted or terminated, Cloud8USA may permanently delete:

  • uploaded files;
  • backups;
  • account data;
  • shared links;
  • usage history;
  • related metadata.

Some records may be retained where necessary for:

  • legal compliance;
  • fraud prevention;
  • tax and accounting;
  • dispute resolution;
  • security investigations;
  • abuse prevention.

7. User-Requested Deletion

Users may request account deletion by contacting:

We may verify your identity before processing the request.

8. Abuse and Legal Holds

If an account is involved in abuse, fraud, legal claims, copyright complaints, chargebacks, or investigations, Cloud8USA may retain relevant data for a longer period as necessary.

9. Backup Deletion

Deleted files may remain in backups for a limited period before being fully removed according to Cloud8USA’s backup cycles.

10. No Guaranteed Recovery

Cloud8USA does not guarantee recovery of files after deletion, cancellation, suspension, failed payment, or termination.

Users should keep separate backups of important data.
